The core essence of MMOs and multiplayer games is that they bring people together. It is various people from different corners of the earth who can have fun together and celebrate gaming. That’s why it is even more important for us to position ourselves as an MMO site against hate and hate speech. They have no place in gaming. Games do not differentiate who plays them – We are all gamers and in that we are equal.
We do this every day in the comments under our articles and want to make it very clear during Pride Month that we strictly reject discrimination and dehumanization of others. What we stand for in our online gaming communities also applies to us outside of that.

About the background of the statement: On June 28, 2021, the Stonewall Riots marked their 52nd anniversary. They are considered internationally as the starting point of the civil rights LGBTQ movement, which fights for equal rights worldwide and is annually commemorated with PRIDE marches (many of which are only held digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic) to remind us of the ongoing struggle for equality for all – regardless of skin color, ethnicity, origin, nationality, political opinion, religion, sexuality, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental disability, marital status, or any other legally protected categories.
