Throne and Liberty: Server Maintenance on October 3rd – When can we finally play the new MMORPG?

Many Germans were looking forward to officially starting the MMORPG Throne and Liberty (PC, PS5, Xbox) today on the holiday, October 3rd. However, all servers are down for maintenance, as the first update is coming. But probably not for Xbox yet.

What is the server status for Throne and Liberty? Since 9:30 AM this morning, all servers for Throne and Liberty have been down. It is mentioned on Twitter that the downtime starts at 12:30 AM PT – which corresponds to 9:30 AM our time.

Due to an update, server maintenance is required. All 47 European servers are also down, Amazon has already added several servers here due to a large influx at launch.

The servers are planned to come back online around 3:30 PM German time.

Throne and Liberty: Server status looks bad

What does the patch bring? Update 1.1.0 is coming – it fixes bugs in the user interface and optimizes certain aspects to make getting started in Throne and Liberty easier.

There are things like: Boss effects are easier to see.

Some bugs in the guild search have been fixed. On the PS5, some untranslated sentences are being localized retroactively.

What is up with Xbox and PS5? Yes, that is a bit strange. Because there are some specific changes for Xbox, such as the graphics on the world map now always being in high resolution. However, the patch for Xbox is not yet coming, and it will probably take a while longer.

German players seem to be frustrated due to the server downtime

In any case, it seems quite unfortunate for German players that on the holiday of October 3rd, a new MMORPG has servers down for the first 6 hours. This will disrupt many plans to start the game.

Maintenance on the servers ended at 3:24 PM

Update, 3:31 PM: The maintenance is complete. At 3:24 PM, Amazon announced on Twitter that all servers are available again. However, some players seem to still have issues accessing Throne and Liberty. Releases of new MMORPGs are not running so smoothly, after all.
