What is the solution to the moon puzzle? The puzzle has two different phases and is part of the main quest in the “Hall of the Lycanthropes”. This means you definitely cannot avoid it.
This puzzle is divided into two parts, but the principle remains the same. You have various yellow and blue moon phases and need to pair them sensibly so that they ultimately result in a full moon. In our guide, we show you the correct combinations.

Throne and Liberty Moon Puzzle Solution: First Part
This is how the first half works: Once you arrive in the “Hall of the Lycanthropes,” you first need to speak with the NPC Clay. Right after that, various blue and yellow moon symbols appear, flying to their respective pillars in a circle and then starting to rotate. There are a total of six symbols:
- Blue waning crescent moon
- Blue waning half moon
- Blue waning three-quarter moon
- Yellow waxing crescent moon
- Yellow waxing half moon
- Yellow waxing three-quarter moon
After the pillars have rotated in a circle, the moons become invisible. The easiest way is to remember where the two half moons are to connect them together. You can also take a screenshot of the pillars before the moon symbols disappear from them.
Now choose one of the half moons, it doesn’t matter whether you take the blue or the yellow one first. But be careful – after you have interacted with one of the half moon pillars, the pillars will rotate again. So keep the other half moon in sight and interact with its pillar when it stops again. After that, you have mastered the first part, but that’s not all.
Throne and Liberty Moon Puzzle Solution: Second Part
This is how the puzzle continues: After the room for the puzzle has been set up, you can talk to Clay. Then you need to interact with the full moon in the middle, and the moons on the pillars will briefly light up. A moon will also form above your head.
When the moons on the pillars have disappeared, you can uncover them again by taking on your wolf form, which you get when sprinting. However, you won’t have much time for the next step. If the moon above your head disappears, you took too long and you must interact with the moon in the center of the room again.
The second part of the puzzle is about creating full moons. This means you need to pair the moon above your head with the appropriate moon on one of the pillars to create a full moon each time. For those who find this too complicated, here are the correct combinations:
- Blue crescent moon + Yellow three-quarter moon
- Blue half moon + Yellow half moon
- Blue three-quarter moon + Yellow crescent moon
- Yellow crescent moon + Blue three-quarter moon
- Yellow half moon + Blue half moon
- Yellow three-quarter moon + Blue crescent moon
In the end, you will have a full moon above your head and may speak with Clay to complete the Throne and Liberty moon puzzle in the “Hall of the Lycanthropes”.
