In a Q&A livestream, the developers of Throne and Liberty discussed the roadmap with upcoming content scheduled to be released by the first quarter of 2025.
When does Throne and Liberty launch here? The MMORPG by NCSoft will be released with a Free2Play model on October 1, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox in North and South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Those who acquire a early access package can start as early as September 26, 2024.
As of December 7, 2023, T&L is already available in South Korea. After the launch in Korea, there was a comprehensive update in July that brought new content and improved fundamental systems. In August, the next major patch was released, which included a new rune system that sparked Pay2Win accusations. Shortly afterward, the feedback had an effect: NCSoft toned down the feature and made it fairer.

What does the new roadmap reveal? The South Korean version of Throne and Liberty is also set to be continuously expanded with new content and systems in the coming months. This was revealed by the developers in a Q&A livestream via YouTube.
For October, for example, a new artifact system for character progression is planned, which will provide your abilities with set bonuses. Additionally, a new ore boss, a Halloween event, new areas, and the debut of a PvP island are planned for the month.
In November, a new battlefield for various group sizes with its own league system is to be introduced. The developers promise a new level of challenge dungeons, a level system for guardians that will enhance your abilities, and an overhaul of mastery.
December will then be marked by the first anniversary party, with special in-game activities and rewards. Moreover, a new weapon (and thus a new class) and a PvP arena are to be introduced, which will refine character progression and implement fresh activities or recipes for the life skills Cooking and Fishing.
Starting in 2025, the planning will be less detailed. However, it is clear that in the first quarter of the new year, a 12-player raid and a solo dungeon await their premiere. Additionally, seasonal events and castle sieges will allow you to meet players from other servers.
What does this roadmap mean for the western version? When Throne and Liberty launches in Germany, thanks to the South Korean version of the game, approximately ten months of refinement have already been invested into the MMORPG. This is a significant advantage.
Similar to other Asian online role-playing games like Lost Ark, Black Desert, and others, western players of Throne and Liberty likely will not have to worry about a lack of content updates. The previous patches and the new roadmap indicate which features and challenges will likely arrive on live servers for us on a monthly basis – and there are quite a few.
