Lucent is the in-game currency in Throne and Liberty, which can be purchased with real money and used in the auction house. However, you can also acquire it without having to put your credit card on the table. We have the best way for pure free-to-play players.
In Throne and Liberty, Lucent is the real money currency that you can spend in the auction house. This is unlocked at level 40. As a real money currency, you can buy Lucent for euros.
However, there are also two ways to earn money through gameplay:
- Collecting items
- for PvE and casual PvP players
- Castle sieges
- for PvP players
You can read how exactly this works in this guide.

Lucent – This is the in-game currency
What is Lucent? In Throne and Liberty, there is a gold currency that you can earn through various activities, known in this MMORPG as Sollant. Additionally, you have the opportunity to earn the in-game currency called Lucent. You acquire Lucent the fastest by spending money on it.
If you don’t want to do that, there are also two ways to earn Lucent.
What can you use Lucent for?
- For the auction house to buy materials for enhancement or even whole items
- To buy cosmetic adjustments
- To pay for the growth pass or the currently active battle pass
Important: Your Lucent is shared among all your created characters. This means you can create a second character to earn Lucent, which you can then use on your main character.
Collecting items
Who is this method for? Basically, this method is interesting for two player types – PvE and casual PvP players. You can read more about this in the drop-down boxes:
PvE players
A PvE player can easily sell armor items they do not want to wear. This is because PvE players do not actually need item “properties” (in English: Traits) on their armor at the beginning of the game. Many “properties” are designed for defense, and even the “properties” that enhance attack are not necessarily needed for PvE players initially.
You should be able to conquer the dungeons with difficulty level one as well, and if necessary, there is a search feature that helps you find teammates. This gives you the freedom to wear the best equipment and sell the other “properties.” Prices will be quite favorable, especially at the start.
“Properties” are the different bonuses of items. For example, “melee evasion.” These bonuses can be removed from armor items through “property extraction.”
To do this, click on the armor item, and a window will open where the fourth point on the side is “property extraction.” After that, the item will break, but you can then sell the “property” at the auction house for Lucent.
Casual PvP players
Casual PvP players also benefit from selling their green and blue or perhaps even purple items that they do not want to wear. In PvP, they may fall behind for a few weeks, but their pockets will fill with Lucent. If you don’t mind not being able to keep up in PvP, then this method might be for you.
PvP players who want to dive right into battle are rather advised against this method, as they urgently need armor items with many strong “properties” to emerge victorious in epic battles. Since you will need the “properties” more to enhance your own armor, the second method may be your path.
Weekly and daily tasks
You can visit the NPC “General Store Merchant” every week, who has a few weekly tasks available called “Resistance Forces”. You will find him in every city. You should pick these up every week starting at level 50. You do not have to complete them right away, as they accumulate in your inventory. The tasks are quests where you have to destroy monsters in dungeons, for example.
You can also buy contracts or daily tasks from the “Contract Manager.” You receive 10 “contract rights” per day. You can keep them up to 60. One task costs one “contract right.” You can choose which tasks you want to buy. Pay attention to missions with the following rewards:
- Noble bag
- Lithography (blueprints for crafting weapons and armor)
- Training rope (for weapon mastery)
- High-quality parchment (for crafting ability growth books)
From level 50, you will receive better rewards, such as the “Noble bag.” You can open this and have a chance to receive random armor items whose “properties” you can sell for Lucent after extraction. It is also possible to draw additional weekly tasks from it.
Additionally, you will receive the currency “Abyss Contract Mark Points.” With these marks, you can go to the NPC “Accessory Crafting” to treat yourself to a “Noble Epic Selection Chest.” From these chests, you can even choose an item that you might need or whose “property” you want to sell after extraction.
Our assessment: Completing these tasks should be child’s play. Daily and weekly tasks are not a new concept. Many MMOs offer this element so players can quickly earn some rewards, and therefore the tasks usually do not present real challenges. So every player is likely to be able to fulfill these orders to acquire Lucent.
The Abyss
You can complete daily dungeons. This is particularly lucrative from level 50, when you should visit Tier-1 dungeons as often as possible. As a reward, you will receive quite a lot of blue and epic armor items. Moreover, you will receive “Dimensional Soul Shards,” which you can use to craft items that usually drop in the respective dungeon.
The items from the dungeons cannot be directly sold in the auction house, but you can extract the “property” and resell it for Lucent.
Our assessment: Continually running through the same dungeons may strain your patience and endurance. It can get boring quickly if you are completing monotonous tasks. But if you enjoy steady farming, this is the right way for you. It’s best to take friends along to make it easier and more enjoyable.

Crafting items
Another way to obtain items is through crafting them. For this, you can visit the NPC “Blacksmith.” It is worthwhile to craft green equipment early in the game. You need “High-quality Lithography,” which you receive from any NPC named “Contract Coin Merchant,” who can be found in all towns.
You must buy “High-quality Lithography” with the currency “Contract Coins.” You earn this through your weekly and daily tasks.
Additionally, a special NPC named “Special Equipment Manufacturer” roams in the northwest and around the city of “Vienta,” who can craft blue weapons. To do this, you need blue “Lithography.”
Our assessment: Whether manufacturing green equipment will be worthwhile shows at the beginning of Throne and Liberty. It entirely depends on how players set the price in the market. The advantage of green items is that they are very easy to craft. Definitely keep an eye on the prices. At least, crafting will not be a problem for you, and it can be a promising source of Lucent if the market cooperates.
Additional tip: When crafting items, you always have a twenty percent chance for the item to become a “Great Success.” If you succeed, you can sell the item directly in the auction house. If not, you will have to carry out a “property extraction” again.
Selling and buying items
There are various items you can purchase to obtain items whose “properties” you can then extract and sell in the auction house for Lucent.
With “Contract Coins,” you can purchase the following at the “Contract Coin Merchant”:
- “Noble Epic Selection Chest: Weapon” for 1,500 “Contract Coins”
- “Noble Bag” for 200 “Contract Coins”
- “High-quality Lithography” for 50 “Contract Coins”
With “Guild Coins,” you can purchase the following at the “Guild Merchant”:
- “Selection Chest: Rare Special Weapon” for 280 “Guild Coins”
You can earn “Guild Coins” if you are part of a guild. It is possible to donate all sorts of items or Sollant to earn “Guild Coins.”
Our assessment: The currency “Contract Coins” is earned from daily and weekly tasks, and is therefore quickly accessible. Thus, it should be easy to acquire items with it. The situation is different with “Guild Coins.” Without a guild, you cannot access them. This requires that you network with other players in some way. If you are a lone wolf, this may become difficult and present a hurdle.
Additional tip: It’s best to find a guild on the official Discord of Throne and Liberty. Because this is important not only for “Guild Coins.” Without a guild, you will miss out on other valuable items and epic battles.
Collecting in the open world
You can also collect items in the open world. Open-world dungeons are particularly suitable for this. You need “Abyss Contract Mark” from daily tasks, which you can see as the last symbol above your minimap. These will be consumed when you defeat monsters in the dungeons. As long as you have the marks, you can go collecting and receive good rewards. These items are particularly worthwhile:
- Armor items
- Growth stones like Rubrix, Marind, Emeret, Stalon
Our assessment: Dungeons can seem intimidating. If you don’t feel comfortable going alone, take friends or guild members with you on your exploration tour. If you happen to loot some useful items along the way, you can simply sell them for Lucent.
Additional tip: Pay attention to the dove symbol in the open-world dungeons, as this indicates a peaceful zone. PvP is activated in the dungeons at night. You can read the time in the upper left corner of the minimap.
Lithography book
If you have armor items in your bag, you can add them to the lithography book. When you complete an entire set, that is, all displayed armor items of a series, you receive the reward that is shown next to it. This can also be new armor items.
Additional tip: If you have two items of one type and want to keep one of them and sacrifice the other for the book, you can use a lock icon in your bag to prevent the item you want to keep from being sacrificed. Many armor items that you need for this can be easily purchased from the “Equipment Merchant.”
Our assessment: The lithography book is a simple method for exchanging old items for new ones that may have good “properties” for selling.
Castle siege
Who is this method for? This method is particularly well-suited for PvP players, those who do not want to collect a lot of items to sell their “properties.” You prefer to improve your own armor and jump into battle. Then you are in luck because we also have a way for you to acquire Lucent as a free-to-play player.
Additional tip: Here we show you how to save Lucent when enhancing your armor: Throne and Liberty: How to save thousands of Lucent (and thus real money) when upgrading equipment.
The siege
The siege is a massive PvP event that can only be contested with a well-organized guild. It takes place at “Castle Rock Watch.” The castle can be taken over by different guilds. If it is under your siege, your guild’s banners will adorn the walls and pillars of the castle.
The advantage of capturing said castle is that you receive 40 percent of the contents of the treasury as a reward for the won battle. This contains Sollant and Lucent, with the total amount changing depending on how much Sollant and Lucent were plundered during the fight for the castle.
But that’s not all; even if you should not win the siege, rewards await you. There are four looting points on the map. If you capture one or more, you can steal Sollant and Lucent from the castle vault as well. To take such a point, you must defend and hold it for five minutes after the battle starts.
Tax transport event
Linked to the castle siege is the tax transport event. In this, you bring the accumulated taxes from the estate to the castle and defend it against enemy guilds that try to steal your wealth. Here, participants can also grab some Lucent, according to Amazon Games.
Our assessment: Nevertheless, participating in a castle siege or the tax transport event will certainly be no walk in the park. To succeed, you need to be part of an ambitious guild and preferably communicate through Discord or other communication means. It takes good strategy and overview for the entire endeavor.
