Is there an early access for Throne and Liberty?
As officially announced, Throne and Liberty will start on October 1, 2024. Thanks to the free-to-play model, all interested parties can take a look. However, those who invest money in an early access package will be able to start five days earlier – on September 26, 2024.
Details about the paid packages can be found here: Throne and Liberty – How much do the early access packages cost and what do they offer. The concise summary:
- Prices range from just under 40 to just under 100 Euros
- Alongside early access, primarily cosmetic goodies such as animal forms skins, outfits, titles, and an emote are included in the packages.
- The two more expensive variants offer 500 or 1,000 Luzent – in the beta, you can afford the battle pass for the first season (500 Luzent), while the one-time growth pass costs 750 Luzent.
- The early access packages will only be available until the official start of the game.
- There will be servers for early access and servers for the actual release.
- The auction houses of early access and launch servers will not be connected.
- For a certain time, it will not be possible to switch from early access to launch servers.
- The transfer from a launch server to an early access server should, depending on availability, be possible.
More details about the early access and launch servers can be found here: Throne and Liberty with update on early access, payment model, and servers in the West.
Why it’s worth joining a guild in Throne and Liberty is revealed by the trailer:
Is there an optional subscription?
In the Korean version of Throne and Liberty, there is an optional subscription called Blessing of Solisium. Those who invest around 10 US dollars receive various bonuses for 21 days, including more dungeon points (for a third dungeon loot per day), an increased number of quick slots, and cheaper fast travel.
In the regions managed by Amazon Games, there will initially be no Blessing of Solisium at launch. The developers’ reason for this decision: “The Blessing of Solisium will not be available at launch in regions supported by Amazon Games because we are still assessing how this offer needs to be adjusted to meet the interests of our players.”
Which items are account-bound, which are not?
The real money currency Luzent is distributed across all characters on your account. You can earn or buy Luzent on any server. You can spend Luzent on any server of your choice. For example, you can sell items in the auction house with Character A on Server A to earn Luzent and then spend that Luzent with Character B on Server B.
Cosmetic items from purchased packages (including early access), battle and growth passes, in-game shop, and Twitch Drops are account-wide. Unlocked styles, colors, and patterns are character-specific. The same applies to cosmetic rewards you earned in-game, as well as to non-cosmetic rewards from battle and leveling passes.
When you receive a cosmetic item for the first time, it is stored in your account. If you receive a cosmetic item multiple times, it remains as an item in your inventory and you can sell it to a vendor.
How does the auction house work?
Lastly, Amazon Games revealed details about the auction house of Throne and Liberty. Here, players can sell and buy items amongst themselves. For trading in the auction house, only the premium currency Luzent is used. In other words, you receive the premium currency through the auction house without having to spend real money for it.
However, no premium currency is required for listing items in the auction house. Thus, all players can sell items in the auction house to earn premium currency without spending real money.
The Luzent earned in the auction house can be invested in the shop, for the battle pass, or for the growth pass. Alternatively, you can use the currency to acquire useful items from the auction house.
Important: In the auction house, you can only offer base-level equipment – improved or upgraded items are bound to you. Additionally, you cannot sell equipment from instanced content such as co-op dungeons or guild raids on the player market. These upgrades must be earned in any case.
How does the auction house affect player power?
There are four ways to influence a character’s power.
- Weapon Mastery: You cannot buy anything in the auction house that increases your weapon mastery.
- Skills: To improve skills, you need practice books. You cannot buy these directly in the auction house. You can obtain them as rewards in-game or craft them at the skill researcher. To craft it, you need a jewel and parchment.
- Jewels can be bought in the auction house. Parchment is not available in the auction house and can only be earned in-game.
- Armor Values: To increase your armor value, you need growth stones. You cannot buy these directly in the auction house. You can obtain them as rewards in-game or craft them at the weapon/armor/accessory manufacturer. For building such a stone, you need one jewel, magical powder, and one crystal each.
- Jewels can be bought directly in the auction house. Magical powder can be indirectly purchased in the auction house by buying equipment and dissolving it, thus obtaining magical powder. Crystals must be earned in-game. These are not available in the auction house.
- Equipment Traits: To improve your equipment traits, you must enchant your existing equipment with another piece of equipment of the same type with the same trait. For example, if you want to upgrade a sword with the trait +Hit to increase the value of +Hit, you need another sword with the trait +Hit.
- Additionally, you can enhance equipment traits with so-called trait extracts. These allow you to extract the trait value of a specific item and sell it in the auction house. This is useful when you have acquired an item that cannot be offered in the auction house. When you extract the trait, the item is destroyed, but you can still sell the trait itself.
The Auction House Taxes
The auction house has a two-tier tax system.
- On one hand, there is a system tax, where a flat percentage of Luzent is deducted from each transaction.
- On the other hand, the auction house has a tax system in which part of the tax is determined by the guild that owns the castle. This additional tax rate can be set by the castle owner. In every trade, part of the castle tax is distributed to various PvP events won by guilds and can be distributed to their guild members.
Through these events (castle sieges and tax transports), it is also possible to earn the premium currency Luzent. More information on the major events can be found here: Throne and Liberty: All You Need to Know About Guilds – Joining, Activities, Raids, Events, and Benefits
