With the major update Solisium’s Awakening, the developers of Throne and Liberty have introduced a series of new features to the game. However, returning players are frustrated because they cannot utilize one of the new features.
What kind of update is this? The update Solisium’s Awakening is arguably the largest update for Throne and Liberty since the expansion Wilderness of Talandre. In addition to the long-awaited housing and lifeskill system, the MMORPG has also released new Tier-3 equipment.
Alongside the new Orb weapon, which adds new healing and support abilities to the game, the Hyperboost servers are by far the biggest incentive for players to return.
From Sunday, September 14, to Sunday, September 21, the player count doubled from 13,739 to 28,353 during peak times (via SteamDB).
The Hyperboost servers promise not only a quick achievement of the maximum level of 55 but also the ability to catch up quickly to veteran players and reach the same character power as they do. However, the system surrounding the servers is currently frustrating veterans.

Why are players frustrated? While the Hyperboost effects are active on all servers, many players are longing for a fresh start in Throne and Liberty. However, as returning players, this is not so easily possible.
Players return to the game and often find their two characters created at release. Although these can be played further and brought to the current level on regular servers thanks to bonuses, joining a Hyperboost server is not possible with the already created characters.
Anyone who wants to join the new Hyperboost servers must create a new character and, in case of doubt, make space. Due to the limited character slots, many players have to delete a character accordingly. This takes an hour or may not be possible at all. Players report on Steam about bugs that prevent the deletion of old characters.
Why not just continue playing? Those who haven’t played Throne and Liberty for months will be met on the “old” servers by dominating alliances and guilds that claim all PvP content as usual. This is a problem in a PvP-oriented MMORPG like Throne and Liberty and not the experience returning players want.
That is precisely why they find a complete restart on the Hyperboost server – entirely without advantages for veterans. It would have been beneficial for returning players to increase the character slots from 2 to 3 so that one does not have to delete a character to participate. This would have solved many problems.
Throne and Liberty ensures with the update that all players have a chance to re-enter. However, the fact that some returning players must first clear out and, in the worst case, are not allowed to play on the new server causes frustration.
