Lara sets out to stop the dark organization “Trinity” and to obtain the dangerous relics herself, which supposedly can cause a permanent solar eclipse. How is Shadow of the Tomb Raider played? Shadow of the Tomb Raider plays similarly to its predecessor. This means that you navigate Lara through challenging puzzles, exploring temples and ruins to discover secrets. However, there is also a lot of action, and you must make the best of scarce resources and weapons to overwhelm enemies. The mix of jump & run, stealth, and action motivates players for many hours and does not become boring quickly.
What makes Shadow of the Tomb Raider special? Especially the new “tombs”, i.e., the puzzle chambers, are particularly well-designed this time. The difficulty level can be quite challenging, and if you are not careful, you might see Lara lose her virtual life soon. But when you finally manage to get the right mechanism working and make that one decisive jump, finishing a tomb is incredibly satisfying.
The game world is “half open” so that you can explore freely at many points, and even when revisiting old areas, you find details or secrets that were hidden or seemingly unreachable during the first visit.
