The YouTuber Iceycat25 passed away in the week of June 28. In the community of Rainbow Six Siege, he was a well-known figure, appreciated and honored by many players. Now fans and players want to see a tribute for the YouTuber in the game.
Who is Iceycat25? As one of the first YouTubers, Iceycat25 accompanied the tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege. He is known for his videos on gameplay and operators, which often dive deep into the material.
Many current players of Rainbow Six have claimed to have gained their knowledge of strategies and the game itself from Iceycat25 and his videos, from which they learned. His last video discusses the rework of the map House, which came with the Season 2 patch and the reworking of a special operator:
Iceycat25 was considered a kind of pillar of the community.
The co-host of the podcast that Iceycat25 produced announced on Sunday, June 28, on reddit that the YouTuber had taken his own life. He was 42 years old.
Players demand tribute to Iceycat25
In another thread on reddit, the user OperationRainbowSix presented a weapon skin that he designed as a tribute to Iceycat25. The skin is universal for any weapon, is colored in icy blue tones, and features a wild big cat, also made of ice – The logo of the YouTuber.
In the title, the user requests that Ubisoft adopt this skin and bring it into the game. The post has already received over 14,000 upvotes, and many players agree in the plea for a monument to the YouTuber.
Another suggestion from the community is to bring a weapon charm. It is also possible to bring an ice sculpture in his honor to the map during the upcoming rework of the Chalet, as the user I play casual suggests:
They should place a monument for him in the Chalet rework. An ice cat sculpture would fit the map, and he would be remembered in a way he would have wished. […] Rest in peace. I have never seen this man’s videos, but I will remember him.
Chalet is to be reworked in the upcoming seasons, although operators known from a leak are supposed to come into the game. However, there is still no specific date for that.
The ideas are receiving great support. Players believe that Iceycat25 deserves such a gesture for his long service to Rainbow Six on YouTube. However, there are also voices that view the matter more critically. After all, honoring him might create the impression that suicide is being rewarded:
Someone in another thread emphasized that you don’t want to encourage suicide by placing a monument for him. It could be misunderstood as a reward that remembers him, which could be harmful.

Players in many games have a strong connection to personalities from real life. Recently, players have advocated for a deceased idol in an MMORPG. After the death of actor Ian Holm, hundreds of players gathered to visit the NPC Bilbo Baggins in Lord of the Rings Online, whom Holm portrayed in the films.
