For Minecraft, you don’t even need a keyboard – at least not in the traditional sense. This streamer simply controls the game with 7 potatoes.
Streamers are constantly looking for new ways to entertain their players. Some come up with quirky ideas for a gamepad, like playing MMORPGs with a dance mat. Others choose a more “biological way” and opt for a vegetable-based control. The streamer and YouTuber _Skrepka recently plays Minecraft with potatoes.
Who is he? The Russian YouTuber _Skrepka shows a wealth of tricks and tips related to Minecraft on his channel. Often, it involves mechanics in the game, such as command blocks or minor tricks and gimmicks.
With view counts ranging from 100,000 to several million per video, he belongs to the larger YouTubers. However, since his videos are predominantly in Russian, he is not as well-known among us.
What is he doing? In his latest clip, which is more than a 3-hour livestream, he shows a very special gamepad. He has creatively repurposed seven potatoes and built a gamepad out of them. Then, you can watch for nearly 3 hours as the potato control works in practice. He completes all tasks in Minecraft that one would normally handle.
At the end (02:49:00), he even got “fed up” with one potato. It was used as the “Use” button and stopped functioning properly. As a result, his Minecraft character couldn’t eat and therefore couldn’t heal. To fix the problem, he replaced the potato – with a tomato. Suddenly, everything worked as intended again.
Don’t you sometimes think of your friends and long loading times: “Oh man, is he actually playing on a potato?” Well, maybe that’s closer to the truth than you assumed…
