The limited research with Perlu is starting this Saturday, and Pokémon GO will show if they have learned something from the Barschwa Day.
This is the problem of many players: Last month, the limited research with Barschwa was held. This event was received negatively by most players. Many players complained about too few Shinys and too difficult quests.
This is new: Niantic seems to have taken this criticism to heart and will likely change a lot about this form of the event. We show you what could be different and explain why the limited research should be given another chance.

This is how Niantic reacted to the criticism: After the Barschwa Day was a failure for many players, there was an outcry about the event. Niantic also took notice and promised improvements for the next research.
The community manager from Niantic wrote about the event: “We have learned from the Barschwa Day and heard feedback and are trying a different approach. We can only improve by trying again. We look forward to your feedback after you have played the new approach [to the event].”
This is how they want to solve the problem with the quests: Many players complained about the difficult field research during the event. Niantic reacted to this and will introduce more research if one believes the leak from dataminer Chrales.
This showed numerous quests that should take place during the event. Simple field research such as “Fight in a gym” or “Spin PokéStops” are also included. This way everyone can do different research and focus on their favorite quests.
Therefore, the event could be more relaxed: Another point of criticism from players was the few Shinys on the Barschwa Day. Niantic also addressed this problem and has quickly removed the shiny Pokémon from the quests. At least that is assumed, because nothing is mentioned about it in their event announcement.
It is likely that there will be no Shiny Perlu, and the other Shinys that can be caught during the event will be available in raids and in the wild. This way, players don’t feel pressured to catch a Shiny, but can do as many field researches as they like.
It’s not just about quests: On the Barschwa Day, field researches were the sole focus. However, this Saturday there will be a real event with many water Pokémon and double Stardust when catching these monsters.
Completing quests remains important, but now there are also other bonuses that make the event sweeter.
These are the negative sides of the event
This must still be taken into account: Despite all the positive changes that Niantic announced, there are still some negatives about the event. The two evolutions of Perlu, Saganabyss and Aalabyss can only be obtained by chance. So you may get the same Pokémon 5 times in a row without evolving to the other monsters.
A name trick, similar to Eevee, is not known so far. Other variants to target the Pokémon for evolution are also not possible.
A problem for rural players: The issue for players in smaller towns has not been addressed either. For these players to get enough quests, they need to travel to a larger city.
Late announcement: The event was announced only on Wednesday. Many players could not take time off for this event on such short notice. For them, the announcement simply came too late.
