Items are important equipment in World of Warcraft. One of them can be obtained from a really simple world quest: the Instructor’s Sacred Bell. The bell is even better for some classes than raid items with much higher levels.
What kind of trinket is this? The Instructor’s Sacred Bell can be used by any class. It provides every important primary attribute, depending on which class is equipping it. At item level 184, it offers:
- +52 Agility, Strength or Intelligence
- Use: Grants you 631 Mastery for 9 seconds (1 min. 30 sec. cooldown)
It is particularly interesting because at this level it has been available since January 6 in the world quest “Centurions, gather!” in the north of Bastion. Since that date, players can increase the item level of rewards in world quests through progression in their campaign.
How to get the Instructor’s Sacred Bell
Where can I get the bell? The world quest “Centurions, gather!” is currently active in the USA and was recently available on the EU servers as well. However, it granted Anima there, not the trinket (when completed with an editor’s Death Knight).
According to user Geaux2020 on reddit, world quests will appear on the EU servers in the following week. So you should keep an eye out for them.
Alternatively, you can randomly obtain the bell from an epic “Tribute of the Paragons”, here even with the chance of a higher item level. The tribute is a reward for the emissary quest “Challenges in Bastion” in your Covenant Sanctum.
The quest shows me a different item! This is a problem that players often report. If instead of the bell, a Medium for your soulbind is shown, there is a way to fix it.
The Medium is usually displayed to you when you do not have it yet. According to reddit user DreamsAndSchemes, you then need to defeat the dungeon “Spire of Ascension” or another corresponding source until you receive the Medium there. This may take some time. Once you have the Medium, the bell should drop as loot from the world quest.
By the way: If you need Anima, you should complete at least 20 world quests this week anyway.
The Instructor’s Sacred Bell is “BiS” for some classes
Who should get this item? The Instructor’s Sacred Bell is considered a top trinket primarily for three specializations according to the simulation site Bloodmallet:
- Balance Druids, especially when they belong to their best Covenant: the Night Fae
- Fire Mages
- Affliction Warlocks
In the current DPS ranking of Shadowlands, these three classes are already at the top and can deal even more damage with the bell. For all three, the bell is better than many items from Castle Nathria, even if they have a higher item level.
Why is it so good for these classes? All three classes benefit greatly from Mastery and have strong spells with a cooldown that fit well with the use of the trinket. Druids, for example, can significantly enhance their “Convoke Spirits” because of this.
The bell grants a huge amount of Mastery for a short time, making it particularly powerful when you use it in a small “burst window” in conjunction with other effects.
Other classes can of course also benefit from the trinket, and especially twinks appreciate a strong item that is so easy to obtain. However, the three mentioned can still make good use of the bell for a long time.
It has been the case in World of Warcraft that an item with a lower level is better than equipment from the raid. In Shadowlands, it generally occurs less often, but still happens for some classes. Nevertheless, Shadowlands with its reward system eliminates a major endgame problem of the game.
