The next killer in Dead by Daylight creates a memorial when he kills you – a nice selfie as a farewell ends the character’s life.
When the latest patch of Dead by Daylight was released, some players were already able to take a look at the upcoming patch. Some quick and resourceful players used the time to learn more about the next killer “The Ghost.” Among other things, they found his macabre Mori animation.
What is the Mori animation? The “Mori” animation is in Dead by Daylight the manual murder of a killer. Normally, survivors die when they are sacrificed on meat hooks. However, with certain perks or offerings, killers can also personally kill individual survivors. Each killer has a special, unique animation for this.
How Ghostface kills his victims: “The Ghost” is heavily based on the murders that were also seen in the Scream movies and the series. He kneels on his victim and stabs wildly with the knife multiple times. After the victim has died, The Ghost pulls out his phone from his pocket, tilts the head of the (dead) survivor back and takes a selfie with him.
This is what players say about the Mori animation: The Mori animation is already being hotly debated on Reddit. Most find it pretty cool and fitting for the character. However, some players wonder why Ghostface wears the clothing from the series but the mask from the movies. It is suspected that this has to do with licensing, as this is in different hands for the film and series.
In general, the animation is praised – it is coherent.

When will “The Ghost” be released? There is still no official release date for the next killer. However, since the “Mid-Chapter Patch” just went live a few days ago, it may take a few weeks before the next update for Dead by Daylight appears. Before that, a PTR would need to go online first, on which the killer, his abilities, and perks will be tested.
Please keep in mind that this information is from a very early version of the next patch. A lot can change before the release.
What do you think of the Mori animation by Ghostface? Is it cool and fitting for the character? Or a bit too silly for Dead by Daylight?
