Fans of Monster Hunter World are currently over the moon. One of their favorite memes has been quickly transformed into an event (PS4, Xbox One, PC).
Since hunters have been roaming the world of Monster Hunter World, they have teased and mocked him. But now he will take his revenge and his vengeance will be terrible: the Great Jagras strikes back!
The event: The new quest “The Greatest Jagras” presents hunters with a particularly hefty Great Jagras. The requirements are remarkably high and players need Hunter Rank 50 to face the monster in the Ancient Forest.
For comparison: The tempered Kirin can only be hunted from Hunter Rank 49 and is considered one of the most challenging monsters in the game. Meanwhile, the Great Jagras is actually a beginner monster.
The Great Jagras and the Meme
The first big monster: The Great Jagras encounters a player right at the beginning of Monster Hunter World. It is the first large monster that one must hunt. For experienced hunters, it’s a piece of cake and not at all comparable to monsters like the Extreme Behemoth, on which players struggle.

Capcom plays with memes: On Twitter, Capcom announced the event with the words that hunters can grab “THICC rewards”. This naturally references the popular “Thicc Boy” meme.
