In Korea, the MMORPG Astellia has Gender Lock. There, each class can only be played by one gender. In the western version, this is supposed to change, and the first classes have already been adjusted.
What classes are there without Gender Lock? At the release of Astellia, only two of the five classes will be available without Gender Lock. These are the Warrior and Assassin, which were previously only playable in male form.
The counterparts to the female classes Mage, Scholar, and Archer are not included at launch but are expected to arrive by 2019, as revealed to us in an interview at gamescom.
When will Astellia be released? As we also learned since gamescom, the Asia MMORPG is set to be released in the West on September 27. However, there will be a head start for certain pre-order packages.
Fighting Ladies Only for the West
What does the video show? The latest developer video for Astellia shows the Warrior and Assassin in female form. At the beginning, you will see character creation, and later some combat scenes.
The models, armors, and partially animations have been created exclusively for the western version.
Gender change after creation? In Astellia, you will also be able to change your character’s gender after creation. This was announced by the developers along with the video.
There is a special arrangement for the three classes that cannot be played in male version at launch. For a limited time after the introduction of the new genders, there will be the possibility to switch for free.
So, if you want to play Archer at launch, you can easily transform it into a male version later.
In Korea, there are some difficult items in the real money shop. However, Astellia promises no Pay2Win in the West:
