In the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online, there was a failed event. The reason was a faulty tool. According to developers, it is now supposed to be fixed so that the event can return.
What kind of event is it? During the “Undaunted Celebration,” players were supposed to battle through various dungeons. They were rewarded with special “Opal” versions of certain gear and reward chests containing various loot.
However, the event had to be concluded after just 2 hours. Players had hardly any chance to secure the rewards.
When will it return? In a recent update, the developers wrote that they plan to bring the event back in December 2019, after the “Dawn of the Dragonguard” event, which runs from November 26 to December 6.
The timing, however, consists of plans that can still be discarded, depending on whether all issues are resolved by then.
Group finder responsible for event flop
This is why the event had to be ended: The event was heavily tied to the automatic group finder of ESO. However, that had major issues while the Undaunted event was running.
Players reported that the tool was not functioning properly and that there were disruptions in the game – even outside of dungeons.
This is what the developers are currently working on: The developers are currently working on fixing the group finder. The plan is to:
- Check the changes to the group finder for quality
- Deploy the fixes across all platforms
- Minimize disruption to any ongoing events
Once the changes are confirmed as stable, the Undaunted event should return.
How do fans see this? The majority of fans welcome the plans and look forward to the developers addressing the issues. They are excited to participate in the event soon.
For some, however, the event is rather secondary. They are more concerned about the resolution of the issues:
Just focus on fixing the game. Events don’t matter. Many of us are taking a break until you get the group finder and PvP lag under control. We’re not waiting for berries and styles.

Nevertheless, there is some skepticism about whether the plan will actually work. The group finder tool has not functioned correctly for years, and now they want to fix it in just one month. Additionally, ESO is currently dealing with other bugs:
