With World Tier 5, The Division 2 gets three new gear sets. One of them is called “True Patriot”. This could be the new gear set.
With the first content update of The Division 2 on April 5th, World Tier 5 will be activated. Then you will get access to 3 new gear sets that expand the build variety.
What are gear sets? These gear sets were already present in The Division 1. The principle works like this: The more pieces you have equipped from a set, the more bonuses are unlocked.
While in the predecessor it was possible with 4-6 set bonuses, it will work differently in The Division 2. One of the 3 new gear sets is already known: the “True Patriot” set.

The True Patriot – this is the new armor set “True Patriot”
This is how gear sets work in The Division 2: To benefit from the properties of the set, you must actually equip all parts. At least that is what the previous gameplay scenes suggest.
There is a possibility that the material is outdated and that it may differ in the final version. As it stands now, one must assume that actually 5-6 pieces must be equipped to benefit from the gear set bonuses.
You must equip at least 5 set pieces. From these slots, you can choose:
- Mask,
- Vest,
- Holster,
- Backpack,
- Gloves
- and Knee Pads.

What can the 5-piece bonus of the new gear set do? With the active set bonus “Red, White and Blue”, you can apply a total of 3 debuffs to your opponent. Each opponent who receives a debuff will be marked with the corresponding color:
- Red Debuff: Red-marked opponents deal less damage to you
- White Debuff: If your team members shoot at a white-marked opponent, a small amount of armor is regenerated per hit
- Blue Debuff: If your team members shoot at a blue-marked opponent, their cooldown is slightly reduced per hit.
If opponents are marked with all colors, the “Full Flag” bonus is activated:
This is the “Full Flag” bonus, for which you probably need 6 pieces: If you shoot at an enemy with all 3 markings, the debuffs can also jump to opponents in the vicinity.
How exactly do you mark enemies? According to the set description, you only need to deal enough damage. The respective colors rotate through periodically. The debuffs you currently can use to mark your enemies will be displayed below your skills.
The enemy apparently needs to survive long enough for you to be able to mark them with all debuffs.
At the moment, it is hard to say how it works exactly since the set cannot be tested yet, and the scenes are only very brief.

However, it seems to be a set bonus that is useful in combat against enemies with sufficient hit points.
Thus, this gear set is excellent for support builds. Snipers should also benefit from this set.
You just need to aim at the thickest enemy, mark him with all debuffs, and then watch how they spread to the surrounding enemies.
The gear set was first introduced before the release of The Division 2 by Gamespot. Here is the video:
Unfortunately, we still don’t know what the other 2 gear sets look like.
When is the update coming? The gear sets and World Tier 5 are set to be available in The Division 2 starting from April 5th.
