The streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek is back on Twitch after almost 300 days in Mixer exile. For a week, he has been streaming daily since his return. We show you how the top streamer is doing.
This is the situation:
- Shroud was one of the most successful streamers on Twitch for years. He was successful even before Fortnite took over the platform.
- In October 2019, however, he followed Ninja to the competing platform Mixer. Here Shroud had significantly fewer viewers, but it is assumed that he received a lot of money for the switch.
- Mixer closed its doors a few weeks ago, allowing Shroud to be free again. At the beginning of August, it became known that the streamer would return to Twitch, he himself mentioned that he would be “coming home”.
- During his first stream, he had over 510,000 viewers at times. His comeback was numerically very successful.
Shroud dominates Twitch again
This is how it’s going for Shroud now: Since August 12th, Shroud has been live on Twitch again. He has been live every day for several hours. His numbers (via Sullygnome) are still impressive:
- Since his start, he has had an average of about 98,500 viewers simultaneously. Even his streams after the big comeback stream have averaged over 60,000 viewers simultaneously.
- In the week, his streams were watched over 4.3 million hours, making it by far the most on Twitch (Second place has “only” nearly 3.4 million hours).
- He gained over 511,000 new followers in a short time.
Shroud is back at the top of streaming. No other streamer has been as successful in the past week.
He is especially active in Valorant. He spent most of his streaming time in the shooter from Riot Games. At times, he also played Call of Duty Warzone. However, he got quickly annoyed when a cheater caught him off guard.
This is how it went back on Mixer: The success on Twitch feels even bigger when you look at his stream numbers on Mixer. In March 2020, Shroud had an average of about 8,600 viewers.
The nearly 100,000 viewers on Twitch that he achieved on average last week is a dramatic increase.
How was it for Shroud before Mixer? The hype surrounding the streamer is currently huge and exceeds the numbers Shroud could achieve before his Mixer switch.
Before his switch in October 2019, Shroud never reached more than 40,000 viewers on average with his streams. Now he has improved his numbers, and it remains to be seen whether Shroud can maintain this.
What about Mixer colleague Ninja? While Shroud has already returned exclusively to Twitch, star streamer Ninja is still unsure.
Currently, Ninja is streaming on different platforms. In August, there were also two streams on Twitch. There he was at least immediately back to being No. 1 on Twitch after his first stream.
