While most Guardians among us see raids in Destiny 2 in general and the Forsaken raid Last Wish in particular as a challenge, other players simply take down the final boss solo. This is done using the powerful Arcstrider build, which utilizes several perks and buffs from various pieces of equipment. Two streamers have now demonstrated what the fight against Riven looks like using this method.
Which raid boss are we talking about? The streamers Slayerage and Baxlyy recently attempted the challenge of defeating the raid boss Riven solo. Riven is the final boss of the raid “Last Wish” and is considered a particularly difficult and complicated opponent. In addition to the mechanics, where players must not only call out various symbols correctly and distinguish between the eyes on the left and right, chance also plays a significant role in the fight.
However, many of the mechanics can be bypassed with the streamers’ method, as they deal so much damage that some phases are simply skipped.
How do the Guardians do that? For this, the powerful Arcstrider Hunter build is used, which we have recently reported on. This utilizes several buffs and perks to exponentially increase its melee damage. To achieve this, one needs the following:
- A Arcstrider Hunter with the top talent tree “Way of the Warrior”
- A shotgun with the perk Double-Punch: “Only one left standing” from the Gambit mode Reckoning or “Imperial Courtesy” from the raid Last Wish
- The exotic Hunter gauntlets Graviton Forfeit

Both Slayerage and Baxlyy also use the exotic shotgun Tractor Cannon. Targets hit by this weapon receive a debuff that makes them more vulnerable to all incoming damage.
Both were hindered by chance, as there is only a 1:45 chance to hit the right eye on Riven to stop her one-hit kill. Solo, one has little opportunity to see in advance which eye to shoot.
Was that the first solo kill on Riven? Before the two streamers, during the spring event “The Indulgence”, the Guardian Tazus was the very first player to defeat Riven solo. However, different circumstances prevailed back then.
Due to a bug the Arcstrider Hunter dealt more damage than intended after the Arc week. Tazus also used the Indulgent Elixir from the spring event to buff himself.
Just before the reset, when the event ended and the Arc bug was fixed, Tazus managed to take down Riven.
