The trailer for a new strategy game on Steam impresses players with its concept and an idea that, according to a reddit user, almost everyone has had in their minds.
What kind of game is this? Kingmakers is an action-strategy sandbox game announced for this year on Steam.
You are the last hope of a modern world that is dying. To change the course of history, you travel as the last hope into the past and confront the fight in the Middle Ages with your modern weapons.
The trailer shows how you face the massive battles against AI-controlled armies:
To change the course of history and ideally prevent the apocalypse, you build your own kingdom and send your armies into battles. Kingmakers promises you soldiers controlled by a multi-thread AI that manages their decisions, pathfinding, and loyalty.
Together with the procedural animation system, this is supposed to provide a special level of character and combat fidelity. And whether Kingmakers at least visually delivers what it promises, you can judge for yourself in the current trailer.
You can play Kingmakers solo, but also in coop mode.
What does the community say? On reddit, many players discuss Kingmakers and the idea of having medieval knights fight modern weapons. One user even goes so far as to say that this is an idea we have all had in our heads for years, but only now has someone really implemented it.
We have gathered some other comments here for you:

User dillo40 poses the important question in a comment: “How do knights even fight against a tank?” This is followed by some interesting responses and suggestions. Aside from the obvious solutions, like setting the tanks on fire or overrunning them, the user TheColourOfHeartache gives the brief answer: “Ewok style”.
