In the wild mode of Hearthstone , a crazy combination is possible. In just one turn, a player can collect over 2,500 armor!
In the wild mode of Hearthstone, different rules apply than in the Standard format. Since all cards of the game are allowed in wild mode, players can create quite powerful and sometimes even absurd combinations that can completely decide a game in just one turn. This is also helped by the 135 new cards from Rise of Uldum. One of these combos has now been shown by Reddit user Devola4. He generates 2,566 armor points for his Druid in just one turn.
2.5K Armor in Wild Ranked… I spent the next 7 turns just sitting there laughing from r/hearthstone
This is how the combo works: The combo makes use of a new card that Druids have received, as well as some cards from past expansions.
- First, you need the “Bane of the Array” from Rastakhan’s Rumble. This minion starts with 5 attack and 10 health, but its attack is doubled every time it destroys a minion on the Druid’s turn through “Overwhelm.”
- Then the Druid uses Flurps’ marvelous Glop (Dr. Boom’s Lab), which gives him 1 Mana each time a friendly minion dies.
- Now the Druid casts the spell ARGH! BEES!!! (Rise of Uldum) on the Bane. This allows the Bane to kill a total of 8 minions, which doubles its attack value 8 times – in the end, it has a whopping 1,280 attack.
- Finally, he casts Earthly Scales (Journey to Un’goro) on the Bane twice in a row. This gives it +1/+1 and grants the Druid the attack power of the minion as armor.
Together with the Death Knight Druid’s hero ability, that’s a proud 2566 armor!
The Druid is essentially immortal: The end result of the combo is that the Druid can practically no longer lose. Even if the opponent were to deal 32 damage every turn (for instance, by four 8/8 giants), removing the armor would take 47 turns. However, since a Hearthstone match ends automatically after 45 turns, this is essentially impossible.
If both sides just waited and hoped that the Druid would eventually die from “fatigue damage” when he has no cards left in the deck, removing the armor would take 72 turns.
So if someone manages to pull off this combo, they have at least secured themselves a “draw”.
The combo is of course difficult to pull off, and usually in wild mode, a match is decided before that. But if it succeeds, the Druid has good reason to be pleased.
What do you think of such combos? Should they even be possible in Hearthstone? Or does it ruin the fun of the game?
