The streamer LIRIK had a rather bizarre encounter in the survival game DayZ. A seemingly slightly crazy teammate caused amazement.
DayZ is a pretty tough survival game where staying alive is not that easy. For those who don’t want to wander alone, they team up with other players to survive in the zombie hell. However, one should not always trust strangers, as cold betrayal is just a mouse click and thus a shot away. The famous Twitch streamer LIRIK had to realize this as well.
What happened? In DayZ, LIRIK was just with another player and climbed one of the houses. Up top, another player was running around in circles, panicking, and kept shouting, “I will do it! I will jump! I will do it!” Why he wanted to do that wasn’t obvious – he was apparently just fooling around a bit.
LIRIK and his teammate tried to calm the screamer down and prevent him from jumping. After all, this player “was not able to survive such a jump and wasn’t as trained” as LIRIK’s teammate. The latter was wearing clothes like from Assassin’s Creed and made a smaller jump.
LIRIK also likes to hang out on the RP servers of GTA.
Shortly thereafter, the screamer shot another player who had apparently sneaked up. After a “What the f-” from LIRIK, the screamer started laughing maniacally, “Look, he’s dead, hahahaha!”
So when LIRIK’s friend wanted to climb the ladder to rejoin them, he too was shot with a “Wooohooo Baby!” Then the screamer dashed away laughing maniacally and jumped off the building, only to be taken out by LIRIK on the ground.
Is this normal? In DayZ, such or similar situations occur repeatedly where players engage in a bit of roleplay or at least pseudo-RP to enhance the atmosphere of the game. Similar incidents do occur, but they are rarely captured in streams. At least LIRIK is likely to remember the incident for quite some time, as he tends to be of the crazier sort.
