In The Division 2 a possible bug is currently causing a stir, which can reduce player damage by up to 50%. This is linked to bullets strangely not hitting their targets.
What kind of bug is this? The error only became widely known through a post by Plouf_Badaboum in the official Ubisoft forum. There, he uploaded a video clip that is now causing concern.
- In the video, he tests a weapon at the shooting range
- He finds that only half of the bullets are counted
- Even though he is firing directly at a target without missing
A bug thus ensures that the game does not count all hits; in the video, it is nearly 50% of the magazine. This was tested on the PS4, but more and more reports are coming from other platforms as well.
It is still unclear whether this is related to the shooting range or whether the game is not actually registering the hits.
Players may be firing with blanks; Developer responds
What could be causing the error? Plouf_Badaboum tested the bug for hours with various weapons. The result is usually the same:
Hardly half of hits are registered by the game. I don’t know if it’s a server issue or if it’s related to the FPS, but something is going on.

Apparently, the problem mainly occurs on Xbox One and PS4, and most confirmations come from players on these platforms. However, as forbes.com reports, there are also PC players who have noticed the problem.
This is what the developer says about the problem: Massive has since reacted to the discovery. Employee Chris Gansler writes: “We are looking into the problem. Thanks for the info!”
However, what exactly this error involves is still unknown. They will look into it closely, as it is a serious issue if the reports are accurate.

Fans are dissatisfied with support for PS4 and Xbox One
This is how players are reacting: The bug is certainly not causing any joyful moments and is being discussed both in the forum and in the Subreddit of The Division 2.
- Many players, like PestySamurai, report that the error has been occurring for some time: “This is nothing new, it has been happening to me and my friends for at least a month. “
- Others feel confirmed that it is much harder on consoles than on PC.
- This topic really took off with the raid, as significantly more PC players successfully complete it than on PS4 and Xbox One.
- Some fans now feel that not much value is being placed on the consoles since The Division 2 has been underperforming there, while it is doing well on PC.
Most, however, agree: Massive should investigate and fix this as soon as possible.
Just today, on June 3, the new Title Update 3 has been released. This has already fixed some annoying bugs. Here are the highlights:
