A new bug in Dead by Daylight is quite annoying for survivors. They are missing out on thousands of bloodpoints. But there is a workaround.
Since the Mid-Chapter Patch 2.7.0 of Dead by Daylight, some survivors have noticed that they occasionally receive fewer bloodpoints at the end of a match than usual. This is not due to their poorer performance but to a bug related to repairing generators. However, with a simple tip, you can bypass the bug.
This is the bug: If survivors fully repair a generator without dropping it once, they do not receive any bloodpoints for it. The points are simply not credited. Only successful skill checks (50) and great skill checks (150) receive points. This results in many survivors ending up with fewer bloodpoints than they are used to.
Here’s how you can bypass the bug: The trick is to simply let go of a generator briefly at 99%. Then the game credits the bloodpoints from the generator’s progress. Afterwards, touch the generator again for 1-2 seconds to complete and fully activate it.
The developer is already working on the bug: Behaviour has already responded to the thread and said that they will assign the QA team to the bug, who will then forward the feedback to the developers. So it’s probably just a matter of time until a hotfix comes out to resolve this issue.
A small bug with annoying consequences: Most players in the Dead by Daylight subreddit seem to agree that this is exactly the kind of bug that can easily be overlooked. They admit that even the community took a long time to figure out the origin of the bug with thousands of players.
In general, it is quite rare for a survivor to fully repair a generator “in one go.” But not being rewarded for it is quite annoying.
Have you noticed the bug as well? Or are you hearing about it for the first time?
