At an anime convention in New York, the artist Nina Yoshida accepted a unique currency: rare monsters from Pokémon GO.
This was shown: A picture of the artist is circulating on reddit. It shows the crazy payment method of the illustrator. Those who want to buy a piece of art from her can trade her a Pokémon. She has marked on the picture which monsters she accepts. It seems to be the specimens that she still needs.
Thousands of fans are celebrating this action, and she herself explains that she has already had success with it.
Artworks for rare Pokémon
What is being sold? The illustrator sells her painted artworks. These depict various characters from the anime world, including Pokémon. Those who want them must pay. But not solely with money.
What the artist offers: A large sign shows customers: “Pokémon GO trades are also accepted as payment.” Below is the list of Pokémon she is looking for. One can get a drawing for free if they trade particularly rare Pokémon, such as regional monsters or Shinys.

There is at least a 50% discount if you have rare Pokémon like Koknodon, Riolu or Hippopotas to offer.
Is the action successful? On Twitter, Yoshida shares a picture of a traded Heracross. A customer has engaged in the trade and saved money.
However, it is not known whether other customers have also entered into a trade.
How is the action received by players? The response to this offer is tremendous. In a subreddit, the picture receives over 37,000 upvotes. Correspondingly, it was also written: “Who says that a Pokémon Master can’t pay the bills?”
Hundreds of fans write that they would love to be there and trade. However, there are also concerns about it: If you are not friends with the artist, then the trade costs a considerable amount of Stardust. Additionally, you can only make one special trade per day. If Yoshida has already made this, then this action can no longer be taken advantage of.
What do you think? Would you trade a Pokémon for a piece of art?
