Get the powerful reputation buff in World of Warcraft before you complete quests – otherwise you’ll regret it later.
In World of Warcraft, the Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination is live for only a few days. Most players are currently farming the rare enemies of Korthia, completing daily quests, or battling through the Covenant assaults in the Maw. One of the most important rewards here is reputation. But you can increase that – the Darkmoon Faire is back.
What kind of buff is this? The Faire buff is a buff that is available for only a few days each month – from the first Sunday of the month to the following Saturday. It increases reputation gain from (almost) all sources by a whopping 10%, allowing you to climb through the glory levels faster and grab more rewards earlier.
How do you get the buff? To get it, you need to visit the Faire. You can enter either from Elwynn Forest or Mulgore. Alternatively, there are NPCs for teleportation in every major city. Then visit one of the two rides – the carousel or the roller coaster.
You can buy tickets for this from the NPCs beforehand. As long as you ride one of the two rides, you build up a buff that lasts up to 60 minutes and increases the reputation gained from all sources by 10%. Perfect for completing reputation quests in Korthia and the Maw or killing some rare mobs.
If you want to play it safe, complete all daily quests fully and play the Covenant assault until the last quest step. Then you get the reputation buff and turn in all quests at the same time. This way, you should achieve a good yield with little effort.
Does it matter? At least in the long run, yes. Even if 10% doesn’t sound like much on paper, the bonus adds up over time and ensures that you finish the reputation grind a few days earlier than players who haven’t taken advantage of it.
Not all factions are affected: However, there is also a reputation faction in Korthia that does not benefit from the buff: the Archivists’ Codex. For this faction, reputation can be gained by collecting and turning in relics, but the reputation gain is not increased by buffs. Even the human racial bonus “Diplomat” has no effect on this faction. If you want to enjoy all the benefits of the Archivists’ Codex, you must collect fragments day by day – from treasures and rare enemies.
