In Helldivers 2 you can unlock new equipment, but what you get is in the hands of the community.
What kind of decision is this? In Helldivers 2, there is a new General Order. You must liberate the planets Choohe and Penta in a fight against the robots. The omnipotent Joel, who holds the fate of Over-Earth in his hands, has thought of something special.
As a reward for liberating the planets, new equipment awaits you. However, which equipment you receive depends on which of the two planets is fully liberated first.
You, the community of Helldivers 2, must decide which equipment you want to win for the armies of Over-Earth. The other equipment is expected to be lost in the fight against the robots.
The Choice: Mines or Rocket Launcher
What equipment can you get? Depending on which planet you liberate, the Helldivers either get anti-tank mines or an airburst rocket launcher.
- Choohe: MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines
- Penta: RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher
On X.com, it seems we could already catch a glimpse of the codes for the new equipment before the announcement of the new General Order. A meme posted by the official Helldivers account hinted at the choice between two new pieces of equipment. The codes shown in the meme are not yet included in the game.
“Daddy wants a shiny new rocket launcher”
What will players choose? In the best loadouts, mines and turrets currently play a rather rare role, while quasars and one-time anti-tank weapons have a firm place in the meta. So it is quite possible that a large part of the community will want the new rocket launcher, and we might therefore see many players on Penta.
User Oakenhawk jokingly mentioned on Reddit: “I have family on Choohe, but daddy wants a shiny new rocket launcher. Sorry, kids.”
Nevertheless, especially anti-tank mines could hold a special incentive for players to finally be able to effectively take down armored enemies like Hulks and factory striders. Anti-personnel mines are useless against armored opponents and mainly pose a danger to Helldivers.
