Last week we wanted to know from you which of the roadmap features you want first for Palworld. Over 1,100 people participated, and almost a quarter of you already find the open world too small. Here are your results.
What is the current status of Palworld? Palworld has been available in Early Access for a month since February 19. These four weeks have been quite turbulent for the game. Here are some highlights:
- The developers held an emergency meeting due to over 700,000 concurrent players. The all-time peak was expected to grow to 2,101,535 (see Steam Charts, as of February 20, 2024).
- The game has faced and continues to face criticism due to plagiarism allegations. Among other things, a Pal was discovered that resembles the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo.
- Developer Pocket Pair has since released several patches, including to combat cheaters and hackers.
In the meantime, Palworld has been updated with three patches. Additionally, the dev team is looking for reinforcement to develop the game faster. According to Pocket Pair, an Early Access period of one year is planned for Palworld, for which they have published a roadmap.

How big is Palworld
? Almost a quarter of you find the world too small. So how big is it actually?
According to developer Pocket Pair, the currently explorable map is about 16 square kilometers in size. This makes it significantly smaller than worlds like in Skyrim (about 37 square kilometers) or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (about 84 square kilometers).
Nonetheless, the Palapagos Islands encompass a variety of terrains and climates: here you will find lush green meadows, fire-breathing volcanoes, and eternal ice.
If you primarily explore on foot, you will be busy for quite a while, even if the world size doesn’t quite compare to other games. Therefore, we have linked some mount tips here:
Improved storage, multiplayer, and Pal-teams – You have shared your wishes with us
As part of the survey, we also wanted to know what features not yet covered in the roadmap you desire. Your suggestions revolve around Pal-teams, the storage system, and multiplayer.
What do you wish for the Pals? MeinMMO reader Zischrot writes that it would be great to have a way to mark Pals in the Palbox: For example, for later sale or to “pin” them in the Pal-box so they always stay at the beginning/end despite sorting.
Reader Gekkosera hopes for an assignment option for Pal-teams
: Also, an eventual assignment to “Pal-teams” would be nice. When I’m fighting an ice boss, I want my 5 fire Pals, and for other bosses, accordingly others, etc. That way, over time, you could create several teams without having to constantly exchange them individually.
What other features do you wish for? D Mastersauer hopes that in the future, Palworld multiplayer can be played even when the host of the world is not online. P5ych0_ch4n, on the other hand, has some suggestions like auto-crafting, bug fixes, and better NPC AI. Primarily, however, the goal should be to satisfy one’s inner monk:
I would like a better storage system! My inner monk gets really upset when Pals seem to put a single stone in every box, so I have to manually reorganize everything to make space.
Did you expect the results? Or are you surprised by the top three places? Do you have any more ideas about which features could help Palworld in the future? Please continue to leave your comments with us.
Even though the Early Access of Palworld has now been running for about a month, players are still discovering new things. One has now unlocked the most useless weapon so you don’t have to.
