What is ESO? The Elder Scrolls Online translates the role-playing principles known from The Elder Scrolls series into an online world. Here, story and quests come first. You assume the role of a hero who is actually dead, brought back to life to fight against the Daedric prince Molag Bal.
Along the way, you will be drawn into many other adventures that lead you to different places in the fantasy world of Tamriel. ESO is designed as a group game, but you can also progress well alone.
Your actions during the story will impact the game world. It is possible for NPCs to die or cities to be attacked, but due to phasing technology, only players who made the same decisions as you will see these events.
Collecting items, developing your hero, and exploring the vast game world stand out in ESO alongside the quests. PvP, including sieges, takes place in special zones.
Number of players on Steam for The Elder Scrolls Online: The Elder Scrolls Online had an average of 12,521 players online in the last 30 days. At peak, it was 22,288 simultaneously.
What players say: The Elder Scrolls Online is currently one of the most popular theme park MMOs. There is a lot to do, group play is encouraged, but you can also play alone, and the story always captivates. Negative voices mention sometimes repetitive quests and a monotonous combat system.
- MadMoon says on Steam: “Very good game. Diverse and exciting. Good graphics, just great.”
- InfinityLA, on the other hand, thinks: “Overall, rather unremarkable. Properly hyped by trailers, but reality and trailer are two different worlds. I’ve given the game enough chances to prove itself, but it just doesn’t grab me.”
