In Pokémon GO, trainers are currently enjoying some helpful changes. Now the developers have added another new button that is meant to make the game even more practical. What this function is about and how the players are reacting to it, we have summarized for you here on MeinMMO.
What changes are we talking about? For several weeks now, the developers have been implementing important features in Pokémon GO that trainers have been wishing for for years. Players have been able to enjoy a Ready
button during raids, an Heal All
function for revives and potions, and most recently the ability to set a lucky egg after a friend level-up.
However, the Quality of Life
updates are evidently not finished yet, as another practical button is supposed to make your gameplay easier from now on. This time it concerns your buddy Pokémon. We will show you what is new now.
New button lets you easily choose your buddy
What is this new button? As Reddit user InvisibleSoul8 shows in their post, there is now a new way to select your buddy in Pokémon GO. You will find a button labeled Change Buddy
below the information of each monster. By pressing this button, the corresponding Pokémon is set as your new buddy.
What advantages does this bring? In the past, you had to go through the respective buddy interface (to the right of your avatar icon) to set a new buddy Pokémon. However, this opened an overview of your Pokémon bag, where you could only search for the appropriate Pokémon using the regular filters.
Evaluation of the individual monster or access to previously set tags was not possible in this interface, making it significantly more difficult to select a specific Pokémon. Additionally, clicking on one of the monsters confirmed the selection, which could occasionally lead to a wrong choice.
With the new button, this is now easier. You can calmly choose your buddy and also take the evaluation into account in your decision. Once you have found the appropriate monster, you can specifically select it without accidentally clicking on a wrong specimen.
Why is the buddy important? With a buddy, you not only have a loyal, cute companion by your side but can also benefit from one or the other advantage depending on the buddy level. For example, the buddy helps you catch Pokémon, brings you items like gifts, balls, or revives, and as a Best Buddy
even gets an additional CP boost that can be helpful in battles.
