Which weapons are often used? Looking at the statistics, one can see 5 weapons with which eliminations are achieved more frequently.
These weapons are the most popular:
- Tactical Shotguns (38.8%)
- Pump Guns (16.7%)
- Assault Rifles (15.7%)
- Submachine Guns (13.9%)
- Burst Assault Rifles (7.4%)
This means that players likely carry these weapons often in their inventory and use them for their kills.
Do these numbers also count for other platforms and modes? This statistic was created with numbers for the Arena mode and PC players. It could therefore differ on consoles or mobile as well as other modes.
From my own experience, I, Eilyn, can say that I also use these weapons the most. I never use Arena mode and also play on console.
Melee weapons clearly stand out
What can be clearly seen from the statistics? From the statistics, it can be read that especially melee weapons are popular among players.
The melee weapons: Shotguns, Pump Guns, and Submachine Guns together account for almost 70% of eliminations.
What does that mean for combat in Fortnite? That melee weapons dominate so strongly shows how pronounced close combat has become in the game.
This could be a reason why players wish for the Heavy Sniper to be removed from the game. The sniper is particularly suitable for long distances.
Box fights, where you build yourself into a box and “hide” in it, are an established part of Fortnite that can best be countered with weapons at close range.
You shoot with a submachine gun at the protective wall, push into the opponent’s box, and finally eliminate the opponent with a shotgun.
In Season 2 there are now also new mythic weapons that can be found on the map from mini-bosses.
