Blizzard has finally revealed the new Overwatch hero Sigma in all his glory. We will tell you what the new hero can do.
After the new hero Sigma was introduced in the last few days with his story, today followed the release of his gameplay. Sigma is now available on the PTR and can be tested. Let’s take a look at Sigma’s abilities.
What abilities does Sigma have? Sigma is a new tank hero and comes with a whole range of abilities that we want to briefly introduce to you.
- Hyperspheres: This is Sigma’s normal weapon attack. He throws two spheres forward that can bounce off a surface and thus “fly around corners”. Upon final impact, they implode and deal damage in a large area.
- Experimental Barrier: Sigma creates a floating barrier that he can push to a position of his choice (even in the air). He can dissolve the barrier at any time.
- Kinetic Grasp: Sigma is able to stop enemy projectiles for a few seconds. These spheres are then converted into shield energy for him. The more spheres he absorbs, the more shield energy Sigma gets.
- Accretion: Sigma creates a massive rock and hurls it at an enemy. The hit enemy takes high damage and is briefly knocked down.
- Gravitic Flux (Ultimate): Sigma selects a large target area. After a short delay, all enemies in this target area are lifted into the air. There they float for a while and cannot move. After the ability ends, the affected enemies fall to the ground and take 50% of their maximum health points as damage.
Here’s how you can play Sigma: Anyone who wants can try Sigma themselves on the PTR – however, this is only possible with the PC version of Overwatch. Players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will have to wait until his release. There is currently no fixed date for that.
What is your first impression of Sigma? Do you like the new hero? Is he too powerful? Or too weak?
