On May 24, the PlayStation Showcase 2023 took place, revealing numerous trailers to the world. MeinMMO attended the event and summarized the five most viewed trailers for you.
What kind of list is this? The PlayStation Showcase 2023 featured a wide selection of trailers for various games as well as new PlayStation hardware.
We at MeinMMO attended the event and compiled a list of the 5 hottest trailers. As a basis for the list, we analyzed the view counts of the trailers on the PlayStation YouTube channel (as of May 25, 11:00 AM).
Spider-Man 2 Gameplay Reveal + Kraven the Hunter
What kind of game is this? The most popular trailer of the event is the gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. A total of 10 minutes of action-packed gameplay was revealed.
We saw that in Spider-Man 2, you not only take on the role of Miles Morales but also embody Peter Parker and can switch between the two heroes.
Additionally, a short cinematic trailer introduced us to the evil opponent of the spider duo – Kraven the Hunter. Together, both trailers have over 3 million views and stand at the very top of the showcase.
How popular is the trailer? The gameplay trailer for Spider-Man 2 has 2.7 million views. In addition, there are 375,000 views for the trailer introducing the villain “Kraven the Hunter.”
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
What kind of game is this? With “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater,” fans of the series finally receive what they’ve been waiting for: a remake of the originally designed Metal Gear Solid 3 by Hideo Kojima.
However, the trailer showed us not much, except for various animals in a jungle eating each other, as well as a brief look at the iconic Solid Snake.
How popular is the trailer? The trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the second most popular trailer of the event, garnering a strong 478,000 views.
PlayStation Accessories: Project Q and Earbuds
What does the trailer show? The trailer shows a brief look at two new hardware products from PlayStation: Project Q, a handheld, and the PlayStation earbuds.
How popular is the trailer? The introduction of the new PlayStation hardware has 374,000 views on YouTube, significantly outpacing games like Final Fantasy XVI (172,999), Dragons Dogma 2 (192,000), and Alan Wake 2 (204,000).
Phantom Blade Zero
What kind of game is this? While many PlayStation fans were waiting for something related to Ghost of Tsushima – a sequel or the long-awaited PC port – viewers got to see “Phantom Blade Zero.”
The action RPG may not have a graphics style comparable to Ghost of Tsushima but impresses with Asian martial arts. The gameplay shown appears to be both fast and bloody.
In addition to a remarkable skill with the sword, we also saw some parkour abilities, allowing the played character to run along walls or climb pillars that supported the building in which the fight took place.
How popular is the trailer? The trailer for Phantom Blade Zero collected a total of 355,000 views and is the third most popular game of the night, after Spider-Man 2 and Metal Gear Solid Delta.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
What kind of game is this? Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be the newest installment of Ubisoft’s popular game series and will take you to the streets of Baghdad. There, you take on the role of Basim, already known to fans of the series as one of the key characters in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The trailer from the PlayStation event also revealed that AC Mirage is set to be released on October 12, 2023.
How popular is the trailer? The gameplay trailer for AC Mirage has nearly 251,000 views and thus ranks last in our top 5. However, we only focused on the numbers from the PlayStation channel. The Ubisoft channel would add another 391,000 views.
