In searching for the 5 best new multiplayer titles for the PS5, a very odd mix has emerged.
Elden Ring is already a contender for Game of the Year
This is number 1: The first place is not surprising: Elden Ring. It has achieved an incredible 96% on Metacritic and is considered by many as a contender for Game of the Year 2022. Especially because so many other games were delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Elden Ring stands out this year in the offering.
The brutally hard open-world action RPG from From Software was released on February 25, 2022, and has long since achieved cult status.
Many play it as a single-player game, but it is possible to face the challenges with up to 4 players: Co-op players can be summoned.
A gamer has taken this to the extreme and became known as the summonable boss killer: Let me solo her.
Who is in 2nd place? In second place, the racing game Gran Turismo 7 speeds to the finish. It received 87% on Metacritic – but fans gave it a very poor 2.1 rating. Critics mainly blame that the new game in the series is “always online.” Players criticize that the series has been ruined in favor of “microtransactions.”

4th place goes to the strategy hit “Crusader Kings III: Console Edition”, which is actually a classic PC game that most people play in single-player. But it has enjoyed great success as a multiplayer title and is popular on Twitch in Germany:
