Lord of the Rings Online
The world of Lord of the Rings Online can be well measured thanks to the films on which the MMORPG is based. According to PCGames.de, the game world is 75,000 km² in size, making it about as big as the entire Czech Republic with 78,886 km².
Although it becomes clear here that square meters are not the perfect unit to present the largest MMORPG playgrounds, Lord of the Rings Online clearly has one of the largest worlds in the entire genre.
Through various expansions and patches, the MMORPG has been expanded to include new areas known from the films. The game world is characterized—similar to World of Warcraft—by many interesting places that shine in detail time and again.
