The Fusion Rifle Jötunn

What is Jötunn? Jötunn is an exotic fusion rifle with Solar damage and is used in the energy slot. It is one of the newer exotics in Destiny 2 and was introduced with the “Black Armory” DLC.
What makes this fusion rifle so special? The special feature of Jötunn is its exotic perk Charged Shot. By holding down the fire button, this fusion rifle charges a homing shot. It fires a single projectile that explodes on impact and ignites the ground in a certain area for a few seconds. Additionally, Jötunn’s projectiles track their targets.
This weapon plays differently than a traditional fusion rifle, behaving more like a hybrid between a fusion rifle and a rocket launcher with target tracking.
How do you get Jötunn? You acquire this weapon as a random drop by completing Powerful Weapon frames from Ada-1 in the Bergusia Forge.
What is this exotic weapon best suited for? In short: Almost everything except raid bosses. It is a good all-round weapon for almost any range and enemy. The Jötunn is not restricted by range or spread like other fusion rifles.
In PvE it excels against smaller enemies and enemy groups. Most majors, meaning enemies with yellow health bars, typically require 2-3 shots. The damage against bosses (or blockers) in strikes, Gambit, or Reckoning is also impressive – even if it doesn’t reach the level of a Whisper, Sleeper or Thunderlord.
Although practiced players can easily evade Jötunn (if they see the shot coming), in PvP you can still achieve quite a bit with this weapon. The homing shot kills with a direct hit. The distance is irrelevant. When multiple enemies are close together, you can even wipe out a whole group with one shot.
On the upcoming page, we will continue with a powerful weapon that is unfortunately still PS4-exclusive.
