The Pulse Rifle Perfected Outbreak

What is Perfected Outbreak? This pulse rifle should be quite familiar to many Destiny veterans. It is essentially the Destiny 2 version of the popular Outbreak Prime from the predecessor. The weapon has been in the game since May 7, 2019, and is used in the kinetic slot.
What makes this pulse rifle so special? What makes this pulse rifle with a 450 rate of fire so special is the combination of the two perks “The Corruption Spreads” and “Parasitic”.
With the intrinsic perk “The Corruption Spreads”, kills from critical hits and rapid succession shots with the Perfected Outbreak generate swarms of homing SIVA nanites. These damage enemies additionally and make them vulnerable to further attack.
With the perk “Parasitic”, the weapon additionally deals more damage to enemies—based on the number of SIVA nanites attached to them.

Against enemies like majors or bosses, SIVA nanites can spawn almost continuously. As a result, the damage of the Prime successor can reach extreme values for a primary weapon when used in conjunction. Every player with the Outbreak benefits from all SIVA nanites from other players.
If three or even six Guardians are out and about with this gun, they can, as a group, essentially pulverize any boss in seconds – mind you, with a primary weapon. What’s more, the full damage potential of this gun isn’t even being tapped yet. As a masterwork, it should become even more powerful.
How do you get Perfected Outbreak? This exotic pulse rifle is tied to a quest leading into a special mission – “The Zero Hour.” You can find more information here: How to obtain Perfected Outbreak and its masterwork catalyst
How do you obtain the exotic catalyst, and what does the masterwork version do?
- Source: Obtained as a reward for completing the heroic version of “The Zero Hour” in the destroyed old tower.
- Upgrade effect: SIVA nanite swarms deal higher damage. Additionally, kills made on enemies with nanites attached will release more nanites.
By the way: Through the heroic mission “The Zero Hour,” you can rack up extra percentages for catalyst progress during a new exotic quest line. You can thus level the catalyst after three instead of five weeks.
What is this exotic weapon best suited for? In PvP, this weapon is considered a solid choice by many Guardians, allowing them to achieve quite a bit, especially against groups of enemies. As a masterwork, the weapon may become even more popular in the Crucible.
But the weapon’s real strength lies in PvE – especially in conjunction with other Outbreak players. There, the Prime successor is considered an absolute top weapon. Whether strike bosses, raid bosses, or groups of smaller enemies, any majors as well as blockers in Gambit can all be quickly and effectively dismantled with Perfected Outbreak.
In short: a really recommendable exotic that is well worth its slot and the effort.
