We present 11 of the currently best weapon exotics in Destiny 2 from 2019 and explain how you can obtain them and for what purpose they are best suited.
The Forsaken expansion brought several powerful weapon exotics into the game, which have since become very popular among Guardians.
However, many exotic weapons from Year 1 still hold their own when compared to the Forsaken arsenal and remain a top choice for the exotic weapon slot. Additionally, numerous new weapon exotics have been introduced through the Annual Pass or as a free update.
Therefore, we have examined all available exotic guns in Destiny 2 again and present you ten of the currently best weapons that no one should go without.

The Heavy Machine Gun Thunderlord
What is the Thunderlord? The Thunderlord is the first heavy machine gun in Destiny 2. The MG is used in the power slot and deals Arc damage.

Originally, the MGs were supposed to return in December 2018, but with this exotic specimen, Guardians got an early taste of what was to be expected since December 2018.
What makes the first heavy MG so special? Kills with the Thunderlord generate lightning strikes from above, and continuous damage on enemies creates additional lightning. Moreover, the precision and the rate of fire of the Thunderlord increase the longer the trigger is held down.
How do you get the Thunderlord? The Thunderlord was introduced in a mysterious murder quest and was available this way until November 27, 2018. Since then, this weapon has only dropped randomly from exotic engrams. In the meantime, it was once again available directly through the quest during the Arc week for a short time.
What is this exotic weapon best suited for? The Thunderlord is a jack-of-all-trades. In PvE, this weapon is excellent for large groups of enemies, which it can obliterate within seconds with its lightning. It also makes quick work of bulky elite enemies and even bosses and can basically be used without hesitation in almost any activity.
In PvP, the Thunderlord also performs well. The weapon receives comparatively much ammunition and is very effective in Guardian duels. In the Gambit mode, you can’t go wrong with the Thunderlord either.
On the next page, we continue with the exotic fusion rifle from the Forsaken raid Last Wish.
