Diablo Immortal
Setting: Dark Fantasy | Developer: Blizzard/NetEase | Platform: PC, Android, iOS | Release Date: June 2, 2022 | Model: Free2Play
What kind of game is this? Diablo Immortal is the newest installment in the Diablo series, which was originally only meant to be released for Android and iOS. By now, we know that there will also be a PC version.
Essentially, the game is supposed to offer a typical Diablo experience:
- You slash your way through hordes of monsters in the iso perspective
- You play as one of 6 different classes
- There is a campaign that is supposed to last about 10 hours and takes place between Diablo 2 and 3
- You can explore eight extensive areas
- There are in-depth systems to improve your equipment
- Rifts and bounties accompany you while leveling
- Paragon levels are also making a return
What makes this game particularly special are the MMORPG elements, which is why it made it onto this list:
- There are PvP contents that also offer good loot
- There will be dungeons and raids for 4 to 8 players
- Immortals can attend raids for up to 48 players
How has it been since the release? Mixed. On one hand, Diablo Immortal is praised for its gameplay and content. Financially, the game is already a huge success.
On the other hand, the issue of Pay2Win arises. Those who spend a lot of money can gain significant advantages quickly. However, those who spend money and are unlucky end up empty-handed. It is said that tens of thousands of euros are needed to acquire the best equipment in the game.
Even hardcore players who do not want to spend money view the shop critically:
Who is it interesting for? Immortal is mainly aimed at Diablo fans and mobile gamers. Even though there will be a PC version, there are some mobile elements included, including the shop and somewhat weaker graphics. Still, all Diablo fans and fans of Lost Ark should keep an eye on the game.
