What was this April Fools’ joke? On April 1, 2014, the game Goat Simulator on Steam suddenly appeared. In this title, you take on the role of a goat and try to cause as much destruction as possible.
Just the funny description of the game made the community suspect that it could only be a joke. Many players were hesitant to start the download because they were uncertain if it might be a joke after all.
What eventually came of it? The game was real and, furthermore, it was also very amusing. Even though player numbers are not as good today, it still has an 88% rating on Steam.
The Goat Simulator spawned other joke games, including the bread simulator “I am Bread,” in which you play as a piece of bread.
