2. Far Cry: Blood Dragon
What was this April Fools’ joke? Ubisoft released a teaser trailer for a new spin-off of the Far Cry series on April 1, 2013. Blood Dragon drew on the charm of 1980s action movies. Everything seemed extremely exaggerated.
Fans believed this was merely an April Fools’ joke from Ubisoft, but hoped to be able to play the shooter.
What eventually came of it? On May 1, 2013, Ubisoft surprisingly released Far Cry: Blood Dragon. What everyone had seen as an April Fools’ joke had become a real game that was also fun to play.
The “cyber-shooter” did not take itself seriously and brought back the atmosphere of the sometimes completely exaggerated action movies of the 80s.
