4. Pandaren in Warcraft
What was this April Fools’ joke? In 2002, Blizzard announced the Pandaren as the supposedly fifth race for the strategy game Warcraft 3. However, it was on April 1.
However, the idea was quite well received, especially internally, which is why the panda bears did not completely disappear.
What eventually came of it? For the World of Warcraft expansion Mists of Pandaria, Blizzard brought the Pandaren back from the mothballs. They actually became a playable race, though not in Warcraft 3, but in the MMORPG.
Initially, fans of WoW thought this was a joke, but now the adorable bears belong to the more popular races in the game.
