Some new models in World of Warcraft hint that one or another character will soon become significant. We reveal to you which characters those are.
On the test server of World of Warcraft, the Patch 8.2.5 is currently active. Shortly after the startup of the server, dataminers have already begun to search through the files for innovations. They have made some findings. A total of 4 new models stand out because they belong to well-known characters who have previously played a minor role. A unique, detailed model indicates that these characters will soon play an important role.
Wrathion – The Black Dragon
The supposed last black dragon has aged well. From the rather childish body, a man has emerged, even though that is of course just his humanoid disguise form. Players have not heard much from Wrathion for a while, but his agents are scattered all over the world – even in Nazjatar. He is a strategist and tactician who plays for the long term. It is likely that he will take on a larger role in the course of the next expansion.
Calia Menethil – The Heir to the Throne of Lordaeron
Calia Menethil is the sister of Arthas Menethil, the former prince of Lordaeron who later became the Lich King. Calia appeared in Legion and was a follower for priests there. In the book “Before the Storm”, which told the backstory of Battle for Azeroth, she played a major role.
She supported the effort to bring humans and forsaken together so that families could be reunited. During this attempt, she was killed by Sylvanas. Subsequently, there was a ritual at the Netherlight Temple where Calia was resurrected – although not in the classical sense. She is neither a proper undead nor alive, but a strange hybrid being.
Sylvanas saw her as a threat to her claim to the throne in Lordaeron. What role Calia will now take on is still unclear.
Zekhan – A Hordler with Honor
Zekhan is a rather young troll, known to players mainly from the cinematics with Saurfang. He helped encourage Saurfang again. Later in Battle for Azeroth, he repeatedly appears to support the search for Saurfang and to join his resistance against Sylvanas. It is to be assumed that he represents an embodiment of the Horde that has shifted towards the old values.
Valeera Sanguinar – The Spy of the Wrynns
The blood elf Valeera Sanguinar was already a companion of the rogues in Legion but has appeared in the story several times. Although she is a blood elf, she faithfully serves House Wrynn, as she was good friends with Varian. Currently, she is a guardian of Anduin and often serves him as a messenger or spy, who notices more than everyone else.
Her new model more closely resembles her representation in the comics or as she was portrayed in Heroes of the Storm. A new model for her was due.
