The “World First” race in World of Warcraft is nearing the finish line. Two guilds have already reached the final boss Azshara.
The past weekend has brought significant progress in the “World First” race of World of Warcraft. It is a close race between the two professional guilds Method and Limit. Method was victorious in the previous raid, Battle of Dazar’Alor. But this time, Limit is in the lead with a solid advantage over the Europeans in the current raid “Eternal Palace”.
This is the current status: As of now (approximately 11:00 AM), only the US guild Limit and the European guild Method have reached Queen Azshara, the final boss of the Eternal Palace.
- Limit’s best attempt was at 52.6% remaining health of Azshara.
- Method, on the other hand, is still at 75.2% remaining health of the boss.
Other major guilds, such as Pieces, Aversion, or Exorsus are currently still at 6 / 8 bosses and thus a bit behind. However, they are also expected to reach Azshara during the course of today or tomorrow.
What makes the boss fight so difficult? The fight against Queen Azshara is likely one of the most complex boss fights in the history of World of Warcraft. With its four different phases (and two shorter “transition phases”), there is a lot for players to keep in mind.
Players not only need to eliminate numerous adds in a few seconds, but they also have to block many attacks with “Line of Sight.” At the same time, players must empower various protective runes in the raid and charge them with energy (or discharge energy from evil runes). However, this reduces their maximum health each time.
Soft Enrage kills players one by one: Additionally, Azshara inevitably kills players one after the other in the final phase of the fight, making it increasingly difficult to defeat her.
Players gradually receive a debuff that greatly empowers them for 40 seconds but then instantly and inevitably kills them.
If players do not finish the final phase quickly enough, they have no damage dealers left at the end and lose automatically – and this problem has not been reached by the groups yet.
Here’s how you can watch: If you want to keep an eye on the pros from Method, Limit, and a large part of the other guilds, you can do so through the two guild streams. They are covering the “World First” race on a grand scale.

It has become quite exciting on the finish line. Whether Method or Limit can secure the First Kill will surely be revealed in the coming days. Perhaps there will also be a surprise and one of the other guilds will surpass the two favorites.
Who did you bet on? Do you believe Method will take the victory again? Or are you hoping that Limit defeats Azshara first?
