In Pokémon GO there is now a new Pikachu with a hat to catch. We reveal everything about the event and the possible Shiny.
What kind of Pikachu is it? A few days ago it was announced that Pokémon GO and One Piece are working together on a rebuilding project in Japan.
They also want to make this known in the game and are now allowing Pikachu with straw hats to spawn worldwide. It is the hat that Monkey D. Luffy always wears in One Piece.
Pikachu with Hat – All About the New Event
When does the event run? In some countries, there are already Pikachu with hats to catch. It is supposed to appear in every region at 1 PM local time. You will then encounter increased Pikachu with hats until July 29.
What does the event bring? There will not be any real bonuses in the event. There are only the special Pikachu and avatar items related to this hat in the in-game shop.
How do I get Pikachu? The Pikachu only spawns in the wild. In the photobomb you will still get Farb-eagle. So far, there are no reports of Pichu with straw hats from eggs. The only way will likely be the wild.
Is there Pikachu as Shiny? Yes, you will encounter the hat Pikachu as Shiny as well. So it’s worth clicking on each of the Pikachu, as each can also be Shiny.
The probability of the Shiny is still unknown. However, one can initially assume a rate of 1 in 450 like every normal Shiny in the wild.
There are problems here: Trainers report that the Pikachu with a hat cannot evolve into Raichu. It remains to be seen whether this is a bug or intentional.
