In Battlefield 6 there are loads of mines on every road, path, and hill that make life difficult for tank drivers. However, there is a way to avoid a deadly explosion.
What kind of way is this? In Battlefield 6, tanks have the option to move slowly. This mechanic is also called “Creep-Drive” and is comparable to a soldier crouching.
If you drive slowly with a tank, you can completely ignore mines and don’t have to constantly watch out for the nasty explosive traps. Mines do not explode when you slowly drive over them.
How does the Creep-Drive work? If you play Battlefield with mouse and keyboard, you need to hold down the “Ctrl” key on your keyboard while driving. This will make you move much slower.
On the controller, the Creep-Drive should be controlled using the left stick. The further you push the stick forward, the faster you go. So move the stick only slightly to drive as slow as possible and survive the mines. If you go too fast, you’ll get torn apart.
Why should players hate this? For one, you are really moving slowly. If you want to be really safe, you will have to drive slowly almost all the time – this requires patience if you want to get from your base to the other end of the map on maps like Mirak Tal.
Additionally, there is no way to toggle the slow driving; you have to keep the Ctrl key held down. This is not the most comfortable way to play. The same goes for driving with a controller, after all, the stick is pushed as far forward as possible in most games.
Why is the Creep-Drive so useful? Mines are really a plague in Battlefield 6, they are scattered all over the map. So it’s understandable that a tank crew might overlook one at some point – and then it’s goodbye to the tank. Therefore, it is quite important to know how to avoid an explosive death.
