Team Rocket has returned to Pokémon GO and with them come some Crypto Raids. There is a small sensation happening within the event.
What kind of event is this? The Fashion Week: Takeover is the current Rocket event. It runs from January 15, 2025 at 00:00 until Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 20:00.
While most content and bonuses are similar to those from previous Rocket events, there is a bonus that is active for the first time in Pokémon GO. And it can be really useful for you.

What kind of bonus is this? While you can normally only participate in Crypto Raids on-site and not from a distance, this is different within the event.
For the first time, you have the opportunity to participate in Crypto Raids via remote raid. The bonus is activated for 1-, 3-, and 5-star Crypto Raids. To complete a Crypto Raid from a distance, you need a Remote Raid Pass to participate. Other raid passes cannot be used for this.
This bonus also applies to the Raid Day with Crypto Ho-Oh, which takes place during the Rocket Takeover on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
During the Raid Day with Crypto Ho-Oh, the maximum daily number of Remote Raids is also increased to 20. This bonus is valid from Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 4:00 PM until Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 7:00 PM.
Is the bonus permanent? Whether the bonus will remain active in the game permanently is questionable. On the official Pokémon GO page, the following statement can be found:
“For the first time in Pokémon GO, Remote Raid Passes can be used to participate in Crypto Raids during the event.”
It can therefore be assumed that the bonus is currently only active during the Rocket Takeover and will be turned off afterwards. Whether the bonus will be reactivated for other events remains to be seen.
