The world of Valheim is still full of secrets that players can discover. One of them is a secret fourth ship that no one has been able to build so far. As an admin, you can take a look at it, but no one knows the recipe.
What kind of ship is this? It is an unnamed “Trailer Ship.” It is comparable in size to the largest ship so far, the Longship. It shares the same shape and the same cargo space for loot.
The big difference is that on the “Trailer Ship” you have a kind of pavilion on the deck under which some crates and barrels are stored, and that round shields are attached to the railing. However, these are currently without texture and can only be seen as outlines.
You can board the ship, load it, and even take a seat, but you cannot steer it. The rudder is attached but cannot be used, so the ship must stay in place. The sail is always reefed.
How do I get the ship? Similar to the secret sword Dyrnwyn, you can currently only obtain the “Trailer Ship” through admin commands. To do this, you must be the host of your own server or enter your own world. You then get the ship as follows:
- open the console by pressing F5
- type “imacheater” and confirm to activate the commands
- type “spawn Trailership” and confirm
- the ship will appear in front of you and then fall to the ground, so you should only do this in water
The “Trailer Ship” – A ship without purpose?
Unlike Dyrnwyn, you cannot use the ship. With Dyrnwyn, at least with the fire cores, there is a metal that is likely used for the sword. Currently, there is no indication that the “Trailer Ship” can be built. If you destroy it, you get the same materials needed for a Longship.
The name of the ship may be an indication that it is a leftover from development. Presumably, the ship is only intended for demonstration purposes and is simply a “trailer” – not for actual use.
However, so far, only about half of the content of Valheim is actually in the game. More content is coming along with at least three new biomes, of which we already know: Mistlands, Ashlands, and the Deep North.
So the “Trailer Ship” might eventually have a purpose, after all, it is already in the game. It would be a shame to leave such a pretty vessel unused.
If you generally like the ships in Valheim but can’t use them as often as you’d like, there is a trick. To sail more often with your Karve or Longship, simply dig a canal across the islands. With the right technique, this can be done almost anywhere and even works for loaded ships.
