In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare there is a map that takes place in a large stadium. In it, you can not only shoot heads off but also score goals like in football in an elaborate mini-game.
Where is the mini-game? Those who often roam in the Warzone have surely noticed the stadium in Verdansk. Here you can find not only 3 hidden OP items, but on the field in the middle, you will also find football goals and a scoreboard alongside some cover and equipment.
The same location was also used as a map for the game modes “Gunfight” and “Confrontation in Verdansk” in the regular multiplayer of Modern Warfare. In it, you can even play real football!
How to play football in Gunfight
Play ball instead of shooting: Unlike in the Warzone, where no ball is present, in the version of Modern Warfare, there is a giant football lying around. It moves when you nudge it or hit it with the weapons.
What many may not have known yet: If you manage to get the ball into the goal, a powerful effect with fireworks and a signal sound is triggered. Additionally, “Goal” appears prominently on the display, and the scoreboard even shows the scored goal.
A player posted on reddit a contribution where you can clearly see how it looks in action. While he takes down opponents left and right, he skillfully shoots the ball into the goal and celebrates the goal celebration again with a kill. We have embedded the video here for you.
Can you do this in the Warzone as well? Since the Verdansk stadium can also be found in the Warzone map, we have not spared any effort and checked whether it works there as well. Unfortunately, it seems that someone has stolen the ball in the Warzone. Because here you will only find the goals and the scoreboard. However, the ball is missing, and therefore you unfortunately cannot score here.
But perhaps the developers will add the ball later and give you the chance to play football in the Warzone as well. The developers have already proven that they are not afraid of complex mini-games in the Warzone. Recently, the new CoD game Black Ops Cold War was revealed in the Warzone with a mini-game.
