The Minecraft MMORPG Hegemony had its first major content patch. We reveal what is now included.
A while ago, we reported on Hegemony on MeinMMO, which finally celebrated its launch after several delays. Now, a larger content update has been released, expanding the game world. New quests, a game world with multiple “layers”, and a new balanced combat system await.
What is Hegemony? Hegemony is a true MMORPG that is entirely based on Minecraft. The developers have created a huge game world and furnished it with numerous different systems. There are many quests, housing options, various professions and skills, many different types of enemies, and large battles between multiple players.
Basically, all that one would expect from an MMORPG.
What’s new: With the “Traders from the East” patch, Hegemony received its first major content patch on September 6. It involves the “traders from the east” who bring new goods and thereby create many new gameplay opportunities.
- Historical Events: These are temporary quests that can only be played within a few months. They involve the protection of traders or raids on them to obtain new resources.
- New Skills: Players can now learn leatherworking and build armor or practice agility.
- Reworked Combat System: The combat system with melee and ranged weapons has been reworked and rebalanced. Battles are now faster, and there are a variety of new enemy camps that can be attacked.
- Layers: The world now has different layers that appear differently. For example, when someone completes a quest that influences a town, they will see the changes in the game world.
A fresh trailer shows these new features in Hegemony:
How can you join? Anyone who wants to check out Hegemony only needs a normal Minecraft client of version 1.15.2. Then they just have to establish a direct connection via multiplayer and connect to the server mc.hegemony.xyz. However, this results in lower performance and poorer textures. Anyone who wants to experience the game in all its glory should download the full game client from the official site.
Have you ever checked out Hegemony? Can you become friends with “Minecraft as an MMORPG” or is that not for you?
